News PostEvery year in the UK, fraud costs public services an estimated £31 billion. Right across the public sector the fight against fraud has been re-energised and refocused. More and more public bodies are undertaking innovative pilots and initiatives, many of which are saving considerable sums of taxpayers’ money. This is important but often under recognised work.
These awards recognise the efforts of those individuals and bodies within the public sector who have done most to combat and prevent fraud. Nominations will be assessed by a panel of experts and a distinguished panel of judges will decide the winners. The awards process will culminate in an evening ceremony in London that will recognise and highlight excellence and innovation right across the public sector, as well as announce the individual category winners.
The organisers are delighted that these inaugural awards are supported by the National Fraud Authority, the organisation responsible for the implementing Fighting Fraud Together, the UK strategy to tackle fraud.
Nominations close on 31st August and the awards ceremony takes place in London on 6th December.
